How To Win At Checkers (Every Time)
After the loss of their parents , 11-year-old Oat, his little sister and their older brother Ek move in with their aunt. Ek works in a bar for transvestites and male sex workers, and when he is summoned to attend the army draft lottery, the family faces an uncertain future. Oat takes matters into his own hands in an attempt to get his brother out of the military draft, but his actions have dramatic consequences.
Told from the younger brother's point of view, the film takes a refreshingly unadorned look at an essentially loving environment where social conditions are governed by corruption and false ideals.
